The snowy slopes of Mount Diablo behind Castle Rock and the green hills of Diablo Foothills Regional Park in early spring
Day 6 of the ‪#‎challengeonnaturephotography‬. I guess I should include at least one Mount Diablo landscape image in this challenge. A few times each winter an arctic storm passes through the Bay Area leaving a dusting of snow on the slopes of the mountain. I captured this photo of Castle Rock and the snowy slopes of Mount Diablo early one morning from a ridge top in Diablo Foothills Regional Park. The storm cleared briefly allowing the morning light to illuminate the lone oak tree and green hills of early spring. The beautiful light lasted only a few minutes before the next squall arrived and blew me off the top of the ridge.
